soccer!

I play this sport called Power Soccer. It's soccer played in power wheelchairs on indoor basketball courts. There are four players from each team on the court at a time: a ball handler, goalie, and two wing people. I've been playing for going on five years. It's really fun to be a part of a team. I just got promoted to Division 1 which is kind of the equivalent of Varsity. My teammates and I are really starting to gel as a team. We're getting to the point where we can kind of read each others' minds and tell, just by looking at one another, where we are going and what we want everyone else to do. We just had three games on Saturday and we won all three! We have our national tournament in June in Alabama and our chances to take home the first place trophey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

College...

So, it's that wonderful time of the year where all the seniors in high school are hearing back from perspective colleges. Most of the time, I don't really think that much of it, it's just, "Oh ya, college next year..." But every once in a while, it hits me. This time next year, I won't be where I am right now, in any way what so ever. Most likely I'll be in new city, living on my own, and figuring out who I am as an independent adult (this is my first "post-turning 18 post, by the way!). The other thing I often find hard to believe, now that I have received 3 rejection letters from schools, is how a school can just reject you! It sucks to think that they don't want you to be a part of their student body. I did, however, just get accepted to UCSB, which is the first school I've heard back from that I would actually consider going to... I can't wait to hear from Cal and San Diego State! Those are my top two choices... cross your fingers everybody!

so, jed, this is mostly to you, since you're the only person who i know actually reads my blog. But anyone else who reads this (yay and thank you!) is welcome to give ideas also...

i'm relatively new at this whole blog thing and i don't really know what to write about...

College. Taking the first "step" out into the world on my own. Scary as hell... but I'm excited! Excited to see what and who else is out there waiting for me to meet! And if I met a really hot guy along the way, well... I'D BE COOL WITH THAT TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's a pretty weird concept actually... leaving what is the only life you've ever known to go somewhere new, with people who are in a new place and struggling to find themselves just like you. It gives you a freedom to re-invent yourself and become anyone you want to be!

I really want to write more... be really insightful and stuff, but I've been working on this for a few days and this is all I've got! Ah, well... more next time!
