soccer!

I play this sport called Power Soccer. It's soccer played in power wheelchairs on indoor basketball courts. There are four players from each team on the court at a time: a ball handler, goalie, and two wing people. I've been playing for going on five years. It's really fun to be a part of a team. I just got promoted to Division 1 which is kind of the equivalent of Varsity. My teammates and I are really starting to gel as a team. We're getting to the point where we can kind of read each others' minds and tell, just by looking at one another, where we are going and what we want everyone else to do. We just had three games on Saturday and we won all three! We have our national tournament in June in Alabama and our chances to take home the first place trophey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What are the rules with the goalie? It seemed like some teams on Saturday had a goalie who was the ball handler as well. Are they allowed to do both?

yes! sometimes the goalie plays up. this means that a player is the designated goalie, but they are not in the goal box. i think some teams do that so they can have their best player out on the court, but also be able to go into the goal box.
